Genesis Chapter 1 contains the creation story. For those of us who believe the Bible, all the so-called theories of evolution and where man came from are fairy tales. When I was in school, teachers were careful to remind us that evolution was a theory, not a fact. Fast forward to today, and evolution is taught as a fact when the fact is they have less proof now than they had then. Evolution, along with many other teachings, is simply an attempt to say there is no God, but as Psalms 14:1 reminds us, “The fool has said in his heart, there is no God.”

The answer to where all things came from is found in Genesis Chapter 1. When God divided the light from the darkness, He said in verse 4, “It was good.” When God caused dry land to appear from out of the waters, in verse 10, God said, “It was good.” When God caused grass to grow and trees to produce fruit, He said in verse 12, “It was good.” When God created the sun, moon, and stars, He said in verse 18, “It was good.” By the way, have you ever noticed that there was light before the first sunrise?

When God filled the seas with fish and whales and the sky with all kinds of birds, He said in verse 21, “It was good.” When God created cattle and all the creatures that roam the dry land, He said in verse 25, “It is good.” After looking at all He had created, you can almost close your eyes and see God as He steps back and looks at all of it, and verse 31 says, “And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.”

Technology brings the wonders of the world into our living room, whether we are able to travel the world or not. We see the majestic mountains and the bountiful seas with their abundance of fish of every description: beautiful sunrises and incredible sunsets. The leaves of autumn paint a magnificent landscape before falling to the ground, as the earth awaits a fresh beginning come spring. I have been blessed to see parts of the world that I never imagined I would visit when I was a boy growing up in a mill village. It is a beautiful world.

As God looked at this beautiful world, it seems He was well pleased with His six-day work week, but then God said, It is NOT good…” What prompted that statement?
