Last night, as I was praying about the events in Israel, it occurred to me that we are walking a fine line in prophetic history. A line known only to God. On the one hand, Psalms 122:6 tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. On the other hand, the events of the last days are going to take place at some point in the future. If we’re not careful, we could be praying against the timing of God’s plan.
Perhaps the prayer Jesus taught His disciples is a good one for us to pray as we face these uncertain days, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done.” I find myself praying more and more as John did in Revelation 22:20, “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
