The God who made all things has a right to say how things work. A person may not like the law of gravity, but if you step off a ten-story building, the law of gravity will win. There is a divine timetable for the rising and setting of the sun. The ocean tides enter and retreat at the beckoning of God. The course of the stars is determined by God, and they move with great precision.

If God has the final say in all this, and He does, why should we question His plan of salvation? If you dig deep enough, you will find that most people believe in One Supreme God. It’s how we get to Him that causes the problem. Once again, if you dig deep enough, you will find that many of the religions of the world had a charismatic and influential leader. Many of them never claimed to be God; they were more of a prophet. It was their followers who elevated them to the status of a God.

But here, the similarities end. The God who made all things, who holds all things together by His power, sent His Son as the only means of us being forgiven for our sins. That doesn’t take away from any good that others may have done, but there is only one Savior, and His name is Jesus. A rejection of Jesus is ultimately a rejection of God.

This may be rather plain, but it is within the rights of the God who made man, to tell man how to live. And that may just be the root cause behind humanities rebellion. No one wants to be told what to do. From a spiritual perspective, it is perhaps best said in Judges 21:25, “In those days there was no king in Israel, every man did that which was right in their own eyes.”

The bottom line is this. There is only one Savior, and His name is Jesus. There is only one way to heaven, and it is through Jesus. The rebellion that began in the Garden of Eden can only be rectified by the solution God provided, and that is Jesus.
