This week has been one of those times when emotions go from one extreme to another. Several times, I just sat and remembered. If you read my devotion last Friday, I mentioned I had just concluded a teaching session in Union Point, where I spent most of my childhood. A lot has happened from those simple days of running barefoot all over town.
As my heart has carried me on a sentimental rollercoaster ride, I could never have imagined where the journey of my life would take me when I was just a boy. I have been blessed in more ways than I have words to express. Through the years, I have mentioned in several of my teaching assignments how there have been times when I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude as I thought about of all the people God could have called, He called me.
In the midst of my recollecting, I remember the great old song by Rusty Goodman, “Who Am I?” Each of you know from experience that life has its good days and bad days, but God is there to lead and direct us through it all. So, I would ask you to stop for a moment and remember. Roll back the curtain of your memory. Allow God to remind you where He brought you from, and where you could have been.
