Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day. It is a day that stirs up thoughts of romance, flowers, and sweet words for that special person in our lives. But for Christians, it should not be a stretch to say that it also serves as a reminder of the greatest love story ever told: God’s love for us.
1 John 4:19, “We love because He first loved us.”
God’s love is not seasonal, conditional, or dependent on how lovable we feel. It is constant, sacrificial, and unshakable. While human love can be imperfect, His love is perfect and complete. On a day when the world celebrates love in many forms, we can pause to remember that the truest love is the one that gave everything for us on the cross.
If you’re surrounded by loved ones today, or that special someone, celebrate love. If you feel lonely or unseen, remember that you are fully known and deeply cherished by the One who created you. Love is not just a feeling; it’s an action. How can we reflect God’s love to someone today? I pray that we will see others through God’s eyes and share His love in both word and action.
