~ Daylight Saving Time ~

Revelation 22:5, “There will be no more night…”

Once again, we find ourselves debating whether to keep changing the clocks twice a year or picking one time and leaving it alone. Some of the comments are quite amusing, as some people seem to think that changing the clock either adds to or subtracts from the amount of sunshine we get. To those who haven’t yet figured it out, the sun doesn’t care what time our clocks say.

Based on what Genesis 1:2 says, there was a time when there was only darkness. How universal that was, the Bible doesn’t say. While darkness is usually when our bodies rest, it is also when much evil takes place.  People think they can hide their actions under the cover of darkness. As a result, a lot of suffering occurs at night.

As Jesus speaks to John on Patmos, He tells us that our present sufferings will not have the final word. He told John about trees that bear fresh fruit every month and whose leaves bring healing! In 1 Corinthians 2:9, Paul spoke of a day that “Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, why, it’s never even entered into the hearts of man what God is preparing for us.”

And there will also be no more night. Eternal daylight saving time. No longer lying in bed trying to figure out what time it is!! The threat of evil will no longer exist in God’s new creation. My mind can’t fully comprehend all that God is going to do, but I sure do enjoy trying to imagine what it’s going to be like when God makes all things new!
