Actually, it does exist, in a special place called memories. Seventy-five years ago on this date, a young couple walked into the home of Rev. Clarke Sorrow in Social Circle, Georgia. They had only known each other for a little over six months, but long enough to know they wanted to spend the rest of their life together. A short time later, they walked out as husband and wife.
Two years later, I was born, and soon, my memories would begin. Like many families from those days, there were some hard times, but their love of God and for each other helped them weather every storm for sixty-nine years. Daddy would have turned ninety-four this year, and Mama would have turned ninety-five.
This is not the same world they were born into, and yet, the part I shared with them will live on as long as I remember that place called memories.
