Romans 1:25, “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator…”
Paul doesn’t pull any punches in Romans chapter 1. Although these words were written to people who lived nearly 2,000 years ago, they are as contemporary as this morning’s news. The sins Paul addressed are paraded down main streets today with no shame. They have removed God from the equation and chosen instead to worship themselves, withholding nothing their flesh desires. They worship the creature, not the Creator.
As one who has always loved the outdoors, there is nothing quite like standing on a mountaintop gazing across the horizon or standing outside in awe of a star-filled night. Sunrises and sunsets can almost take your breath away as you look upon the unmatched beauty of God’s artistry. Even those who may not believe in God are having to admit, “This could not have happened by accident.” Creation declares the glory of God.
Humanity’s fall began in Genesis 3:6 when Eve chose creation over the Creator. It quickly escalated from disobedience to murder, and then to every vile thing humanity could conceive.
Although God has gone to great lengths to reconcile the sinner, Paul lets us know that God will tolerate only so much. If you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior, I pray that Holy Ghost conviction will captivate your heart right now and that you will respond by repenting and embracing the love of God. Don’t wait, today is the day of salvation. Eternity is just one heartbeat away.
