Lamentations 3:22-23, “His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
There are many ways to look at these two verses. Yesterday may have been a bad day, but with the rising of the sun, we have an opportunity to have a better day. Circumstances from the past can range from trivial to chaotic to heartbreaking, and yet each new day presents us with something of a “do over.” We can’t erase what happened yesterday, but we can begin again. God’s compassion and love guarantee that.
Verse 23 is telling us that God doesn’t recycle old grace. He gives fresh mercy with every sunrise. His compassion is like a well that never runs dry. Because of God’s faithfulness, we can take a deep breath and move forward into the story that God is still writing for us. Have a blessed day.
