1 Peter 1:3-5, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

Marlene and I often talk about how much God has blessed us. We thank God every day for our family. We live in a home that neither of us imagined as children, and we have friends all over the world. While the wealthy of the world have more than us, we do have an inheritance coming our way!

The Bible describes it as a kingdom of justice, peace, and abundant life, a kingdom without pain, sorrow, or death. And there’s a place reserved in it just for me! It’s not that we automatically have a reservation, but God made it possible for us to receive this inheritance by believing in Jesus’ power to save us from our sins. He came to be one of us and die in our place so that we won’t have to bear the curse of sin and death. I’m looking forward to the day when I can claim my inheritance!
